NATIONAL PULSE MEMORIAL & MUSEUM: THE NATIONAL PULSE MEMORIAL WILL BE A PLACE OF SANCTUARY AND COMMEMORATION. A SAFE, RESTING PLACE FOR MEMORIES OF THE 49 ANGELS, AND FOR PULSE AND WHAT IT MEANT. THE PULSE MUSEUM WILL BE A SITE OF POTENTIAL AND TRANSFORMATION. HERE PUBLIC GRIEF HAS A PLACE TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO PERSONAL MEANING, AND TO INSPIRE A SOCIETY THAT WARMLY EMBRACES AND FIERCELY DEFENDS THE FULL SPECTRUM OF OUR SHARED HUMANITY. THE ORLANDO HEALTH SURVIVORS WALK WILL BE A PILGRIMAGE OF EMPATHY AND COMPASSION. IT OFFERS MOMENTS OF COMFORT, RESPITE AND HUMAN CONNECTION. LIKE SO MANY OTHER NONPROFITS ACROSS THE WORLD OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, ONEPULSE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY COVID-19. ALTHOUGH THE PANDEMIC HAS ALTERED THE TRAJECTORY OF OUR WORK WITH REGARD TO INCREASED COSTS AND SCARCITY OF MATERIALS, THE NATIONAL PULSE MEMORIAL & MUSEUM PROJECT CONTINUES TO MOVE FORWARD. WE ARE CURRENTLY IN THE SCHEMATIC DESIGN PHASE AND FOLLOWING THAT WILL BE THE DESIGN DEVELOPMENT STAGE. THE NEXT PHASE INCLUDES OUR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRM, GILBANE BUILDING COMPANY IN ASSOCIATION WITH T&G CONSTRUCTORS, WORKING WITH OUR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PMA, AND DESIGN FIRM COLDEFY WITH RDAI AND HHCP TO UPDATE THE PROJECT TIMELINE, MASTER PLAN AND BUDGET, AND TO ENSURE THAT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION IS COORDINATED WITH OTHER PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS ALREADY PLANNED BY THE CITY OF ORLANDO. THE FOUNDATION IS CURRENTLY REEVALUATING THE MASTER PLAN AND PROJECT TIMELINE AND AS SUCH, DOESN'T HAVE UPDATED DATES AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. OUR FUNDRAISING IS MODELED AFTER OTHER SIMILAR, SUCCESSFUL PROJECTS SUCH AS THE 9/11 MEMORIAL & MUSEUM THE OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL & MUSEUM AND INCLUDES A VARIETY OF DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS RANGING FROM INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS, CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION.
49 LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: IN APRIL, THE SECOND CLASS OF 49 LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS WAS ANNOUNCED AND AWARDED $236,300 IN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR USE DURING THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR. WORKING WITH THE FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES OF THOSE KILLED, ONEPULSE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED THE SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON THE RESPECTIVE VICTIMS' INTERESTS, CAREERS OR ASPIRATIONS. AS AN EXTENSION OF THEIR IMPACT ON OUR WORLD, THE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL INSPIRE AND EMPOWER STUDENTS WHO SHARE SIMILAR DREAMS, AMBITIONS AND GOALS. PREFERENCE WAS GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO ARE IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE 49 VICTIMS, AS WELL AS ALL OF THE SURVIVORS OF THE TRAGEDY. THREE FAMILY MEMBERS AND THREE SURVIVORS WERE AWARDED INAUGURAL SCHOLARSHIPS. THE LEGACY SCHOLARSHIPS ARE FUNDED IN PART BY THE GENEROSITY OF MAJOR DONORS, INCLUDING: ADVENTHEALTH, ALIXPARTNERS, THE BRUMBACK FAMILY, EARL AND BETTIE FIELDS AUTOMOTIVE GROUP FOUNDATION, GEICO PHILANTHROPIC FOUNDATION, GUCCI, LOREAL USA, NYC PRIDE, ORLANDO HEALTH, PVH FOUNDATION, AND WENDY TRAMMEL.
