RFA'S MISSION IS TO MAKE INVESTING IN WHAT WORKS THE "NEW NORMAL", SO THAT GOVERNMENT DECISION-MAKERS WILL REGULARLY AND EFFECTIVELY USE EVIDENCE AND DATA TO INCREASE THE IMPACT OF GOVERNMENT SPENDING TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE, THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. RFA'S ACTIVITIES ARE FOCUSED ON GOVERNMENT DECISION-MAKERS TO BUILD THEIR AWARENESS OF, SUPPORT FOR, AND THE ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT FUNDING OF EVIDENCED-BASED, RESULTS-DRIVEN SOCIAL PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE OUTCOMES. STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE: RESULTS FOR AMERICA WORKS TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF GOVERNMENT DECISION MAKERS AND NON-PROFIT LEADERS TO IMPLEMENT EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES, WITH THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF HELPING THEM MAKE MORE EFFECTIVE USE OF RESOURCES, TO SCALE EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS, AND TO ACHIEVE BETTER OUTCOMES FOR THEIR RESIDENTS. OUR STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE - WHAT WORKS CITIES CERTIFICATION, STATE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE, AND FEDERAL STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE - HELP GOVERNMENTS BENCHMARK THEIR EXISTING DATA AND EVIDENCE CAPACITY AND PROVIDE A ROADMAP FOR HOW TO ACCELERATE THEIR PROGRESS AND DELIVER BETTER RESULTS.
IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT: RFA HELPS GOVERNMENT DECISION-MAKERS IMPLEMENT POLICIES, PRACTICES AND SYSTEMS AROUND THREE ISSUES: (1) EDUCATION: HELPS STATES, SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND SCHOOLS BUILD AND USE EVIDENCE TO IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR OUR NATION'S STUDENTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE STATE EDUCATION FELLOWS PROGRAM AND EDRESEARCH FOR RECOVERY PROGRAM. (2) ECONOMIC MOBILITY: HELPS LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEADERS IDENTIFY EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACHES TO THEIR ECONOMIC MOBILITY-RELATED CHALLENGES THROUGH OUR ECONOMIC MOBILITY CATALOG AND IMPLEMENT PROMISING IDEAS THROUGH SOLUTIONS SPRINTS. (3) WORKFORCE: HELPS STATE AND LOCAL WORKFORCE LEADERS IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR JOB SEEKERS AND EMPLOYERS BY INVESTING FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL WORKFORCE DOLLARS IN EVIDENCE-BASED, RESULTS-DRIVEN SOLUTIONS THROUGH OUR STATE & LOCAL WORKFORCE FELLOWSHIP AND GOOD JOBS AND EQUITY PROJECT.
MOVEMENT BUILDING: RFA CONTINUES TO BUILD A MOVEMENT AROUND EVIDENCE-BASED POLICYMAKING WITH THE CURRENT GOAL OF GETTING THE MAJORITY OF "EARLY ADOPTERS" OF THE PRACTICES TO SUPPORT AND IMPLEMENT EVIDENCE-BASED POLICIES. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, RFA COMMUNICATES RESEARCH AND SOLUTIONS TO POLICY MAKERS AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, THROUGH A VARIETY OF CHANNELS AND MEDIA.
