TO EMPOWER ADULT ORPHANS WITH OPPORTUNITIES AND SUPPORT, EXPECIALLY IN KOREA, THROUGH EDUCATING, COUNSELING, ASSISTING AND MENTORING.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: EIGHTEEN STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE PROGRAM. ONE RECIPIENT EARNED AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PILATES CERTIFICATE AND ANOTHER GRADUATED WITH HONORS IN NURSING. ALL STUDENTS SUBMITTED MONTHLY UPDATES, ENGAGED IN VOLUNTEER SERVICES AND FIFTEEN STUDENTS ATTENDED A SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP IN SEOUL. AT THE WORKSHOP, STUDENTS AND JOB SEEKERS JOINED A GROUP ACTIVITY SERVING LUNCH TO THE ELDERLY, LISTENED TO LECTURES BY AGED-OUT ORPHANS, ATTENDED A SESSION ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BY INSTRUCTOR JANG AND PRESENTED THEIR PROGRESS IN A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION. THE DAY ENDED WITH NIGHT BOWLING. ADDITIONALLY, A VOLUNTEER AND ADOPTEE FROM THE U.S. TAUGHT AN ENGLISH CLASS. THE WEEKEND WAS INTENSIVE, BUT ALLOWED STUDENTS TO BOND AND FORM FRIENDSHIPS. LBTO AWARDED 80,601.00 TO VARIOUS NEEDS OF THE RECIPIENTS. THE TOTAL FUNDING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, INCLUDING HOLT KOREA'S BLUEBIRD PROGRAM (10,000) WAS 97,987.95 LBTO ALSO HOSTED AND FUNDED SEVERAL EVENTS. THE ANNUAL ONE DAY LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION WITH 38 AGED-OUT ADULTS PARTICIPATING AT A TOTAL OF 6,785.77 THE THREE-DAY CHUSEOK (THANKSGIVING) CELEBRATION WITH 40 AGED-OUT ADULTS AND SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS COSTING 10,876.53 THE 1ST MOVE ON FAIR ATTENDED BY 130 AGED-OUT ADULTS AND TEN SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS. LBTO DONATED 25,000 TO THIS EVENT WHICH WAS PLANNED BY ANOTHER COMPANY. THIS EVENT, A FIRST IN KOREA, PROVIDED CRUCIAL INFORMATION ON HOUSING, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION. ATTENDEES VISITED BOOTHS FOR COUNSELING, ENJOYED A GOURMET BUFFET DINNER, MUSIC PERFORMANCES BY FAMOUS ARTISTS AND DOOR PRIZES. IT WAS A DAY OF LEARNING AND CELEBRATION. ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT EVENT WAS THE INAUGURATION OF KOREA LBTO, NOW RECOGNIZED BY THE KOREAN GOVERNMENT AS AN NPO. THIS DEVELOPMENT STRENGTHENS AND GROWS THE MINISTRY.
