THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE ALLIANCE OF YMCA'S DELIVERS SUPPORT, SERVICES AND INFORMATION TO THE YMCA ASSOCIATIONS ACROSS THE STATE. OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO CREATE COLLABORATION AND SHARING OF INFORMATION, EXPERIENCE, AND EXPERTISE AMONG YMCA'S, AND TO CONNECT Y LEADERS TO INFORMATION PROVIDED BY YUSA THROUGH LINK WEBSITE AND OTHER COMMUNICATION SOURCES. SERVICES INCLUDE BOARD GOVERNANCE TRAINING, STRATEGIC PLANNING, AND SETTING THE FRAMEWORK FOR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AMONG YMCA'S.


STATE CAPITOL AND LOCAL ADVOCACY EVENTS - THE ANNUAL ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL WHERE Y CEOS, LEADERS AND STAFF MEET WITH STATE LEGISLATORS AND OTHER STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO ADVOCATE ON KEY Y ISSUES SUCH AS: CHILD CARE, AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS; AND CHARITABLE GIVING. NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS - BIENNIAL MEETINGS WITH CEOS AND OTHER Y LEADERS IN EACH OF THE ALLIANCE'S FIVE (5) NEIGHBORHOODS DURING WHICH THE TOPICS INCLUDE: KEY SERVICE DELIVERY UPDATES; POLICY AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITIES AND UPDATES; AND GENERAL DISCUSSION WITH THE PARTICIPANTS.


YMCA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT - THE ANNUAL STATEWIDE MEETING OF YMCA CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS AND OTHER SENIOR STAFF DURING WHICH THE TOPICS INCLUDE: KEY POLICY ISSUES FACING YMCAS; PROGRAMS/INITIATIVES INTENDED TO HELP THEM SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES; TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES ENABLING THEM TO SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATE FOR THEIR LOCAL YS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS; AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES.
