INTERVENTIONS - IN 2021, CPEACE CONCLUDED ITS EFFORTS IN TWO INTERVENTIONS, ONE REGARDING CONFLICT AMONG GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND WITH LOCAL AND INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES OVER RECOVERY OF AN ENDANGERED MARINE MAMMAL, AND ONE INVOLVING CONFLICT AMONG SEVERAL DOZEN DIFFERENT GROUPS, AGENCIES, COMPANIES, COMMUNITIES AND NATIONS SURROUNDING RESOURCE EXTRACTION, ENDANGERED SPECIES, CLIMATE ADAPTATION, AND TREATY RIGHTS.
CAPACITY BUILDING - CPEACE DESIGNED AND LED SEVEN WEEK-LONG CONSERVATION CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION (CCT) CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS; THREE OF THESE WERE PART OF INTERVENTIONS INTO SPECIFIC CONFLICT CASES. CPEACE ADAPTED ITS UNIQUE METHODOLOGY TO A VIRTUAL PLATFORM, TESTING, REFINING, AND EVALUATING EFFICACY TO ENSURE CPEACE'S HIGH STANDARDS OF PRACTICE IN BUILDING CAPACITY CONTINUED TO BE MET. CPEACE ALSO LED MULTIPLE SHORTER WORKSHOPS AND WEBINARS FOR OVER 150 PARTICIPANTS, PROVIDING SEVERAL LOW- AND NO-COST OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARTICIPATION, THEREBY EXPANDING ITS REACH, VISIBILITY AND THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MORE INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS TO LEARN ABOUT ALTERNATIVE, PRODUCTIVE MEANS TO TRANSFORM CONFLICT OVER CONSERVATION. PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED PROFESSIONALS, STAKEHOLDERS, AND LEADERS FROM SEVERAL STATES ACROSS THE US, AS WELL AS PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS SEVERAL CONTINENTS, INCLUDING AUSTRALIA, ASIA, AFRICA AND NORTH AMERICA. PARTICIPANTS REPRESENTED NATIONAL AND REGIONAL LEVEL GOVERNMENTS, SOVEREIGN INDIGENOUS NATIONS, NGOS, COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS AND LEADERS, AND INTEREST GROUPS.
OTHERS - IN ADDITION, CPEACE: FURTHER DEVELOPED, ADAPTED AND TESTED ITS METHODOLOGY FOR NURTURING A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE (COP) AMONG PRACTITIONERS OF CCT THROUGH SIX VIRTUAL COP SESSIONS; PROVIDED MENTORING AND STRATEGIC GUIDANCE TO INDIVIDUALS WORKING ON CONFLICT, INCLUDING THOSE WORKING AS ADVOCATES OR ACTIVISTS WITHIN A CONFLICT AND THOSE SERVING AS THIRD PARTY NEUTRALS (TPNS) IN CONFLICT; WAS INVITED AS A CRITICAL THOUGHT LEADER AND PRACTITIONER TO PARTICIPATE IN MULTIPLE PUBLIC EVENTS AND OTHER LEADERSHIP EFFORTS TO EXPLORE THE FRONTIER OF SOCIETAL CONFLICT AND EFFECTIVE ENGAGEMENT AND DECISION-MAKING, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE GROWING THREATS TO HUMAN COMMUNITIES AND ECOLOGICAL SYSTEMS. CPEACE ALSO: PROVIDED GUIDANCE TO DOCUMENTARY FILM PRODUCERS; CO-DEVELOPED AND CO-AUTHORED MULTIPLE PUBLICATIONS; RESEARCHED AND EXPLORED INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO ENSURING AND SUPPORTING RESILIENCE AMONG PROFESSIONALS WORKING TO TRANSFORM CONFLICT IN CONSERVATION; CONTINUED ITS PARTICIPATION AS AN ADVISOR IN DEVELOPING A MONITORING AND EVALUATION TOOLKIT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PEACEBUILDING.
