GARDNER'S PARK CLTTHIS PLAN IS DESIGNED TO MEET THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF RESIDENTS IN MIAMI, FL LIVING IN SLUM HOUSING IN THE MOST COST AND TIME EFFECTIVE WAY POSSIBLE. IT CALLS FOR RESIDENTS TO BE TEMPORARILY REHOUSED IN PURPOSE-BUILT EXPEDITED HOUSING FACILITIES UNTIL THEIR NEW PERMANENT AFFORDABLE DWELLINGS ARE MADEAVAILABLE THROUGH THE RECLAIMING AND RENOVATION OF THEIR FORMER SLUMLORD BUILDINGS. THESE SLUMLORD PROPERTIES WOULD BE ACQUIRED THROUGH LEGAL ACTION. IT WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED IN 3 PHASES.THE EXPEDITED HOUSING FACILITIES WOULD BE CONSIDERED A FACILITY SERVING THE CITY OF MIAMI, SIMILAR TO CAMILLUS HOUSE OR LOTUS HOUSE, AND SHOULD BE COMPARED FAVORABLY TO OTHER EMERGENCY HOUSING ALTERNATIVES LIKE FEMATRAILERS OR TRIAGE HOUSING OFFERED BY THE AMERICAN RED CROSS.LGBTQ HOMELESS YOUTH TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FACILITYLGBTQ YOUTH HOMELESSNESS IS A BIG PROBLEM IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, WITH 150 UNACCOMPANIED MINORS AS OF THE LAST ICOUNT, AND UP TO 40% OF THOSE IDENTIFYING AS LGBTQ (NGLTF DATA).
