LCF EXISTS TO UNLEASH THE CIVIC AND ECONOMIC POWER OF LATINOS IN CALIFORNIA. LCF FULFILLS THE MISSION BY BUILDING A MOVEMENT OF CIVICALLY ENGAGED PHILANTHROPIC LEADERS, INVESTING IN LATINO-LED (CONTINUE ON SCH O)

LINE 4A - BUILDING CIVIC POWER: LATINO POWER FUND LCF'S LATINO POWER FUND FURTHERS THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION TO BUILD THE CIVIC POWER OF LATINOS IN CALIFORNIA. LCF LEVERAGES ITS UNIQUE ROLE AS A GRANTMAKER, CONVENER, AND ADVOCATE TO BUILD AND ACTIVATE A NETWORK OF CHANGEMAKERS IN REGIONS LIKE THE CENTRAL VALLEY, CENTRAL COAST, AND THE INLAND EMPIRE. THE WORK HAS RESULTED IN LEVERAGING OVER 300 MILLION IN FEDERAL RESOURCES IN 2022, INCREASED VOTER PARTICIPATION IN THE CENTRAL VALLEY IN 2022, AND OVER 2 MILLION IN NEW PRIVATE FUNDS TO A NETWORK OF 27 ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH LCF'S LATINO NONPROFIT ACCELERATOR. LCF HAS ADDRESSED THE PHILANTHROPIC INEQUITY AND DISINVESTMENT OF LATINO COMMUNITIES BY ORGANIZING THE LARGEST MOVEMENT OF LATINO DONORS IN THE NATION AND BY PARTNERING WITH STATEWIDE AND REGIONAL FOUNDATIONS. IN 2022, LCF LED CONVENINGS ACROSS THE STATE TO AMPLIFY THE VOICES OF LATINOS AND INSPIRE A PHILANTHROPIC MOVEMENT TO LIBERATE CAPITAL FOR LATINO COMMUNITIES ACROSS CALIFORNIA. LCF HAS LEVERAGED AND UTILIZED MEDIA TO HELP SHAPE AN ASSET- BASED NARRATIVE ABOUT THE VALUE AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF LATINOS, YOUTH VOTERS, AND LATINO-LED NONPROFITS. LCF IS CONFIDENT IN THE COMMUNITY'S ABILITY TO INFORM, SHAPE, AND CREATE THE SOCIAL CHANGE NEEDED FOR A STRONG MULTI- RACIAL DEMOCRACY AND AN INCLUSIVE, JUST ECONOMY.

LINE 4B -BUILDING ECONOMIC POWER IN 2022, LCF STRENGTHENED AND EXPANDED ITS ECONOMIC JUSTICE WORK BY HIRING TWO KEY STAFF TO LEAD PROGRAMS AND GRANTMAKING THAT WOULD INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC MOBILITY AND GROWTH IN OUR COMMUNITIES. THIS INCLUDES EFFORTS TO INCREASE ACCESS TO CAPITAL TO ENTREPRENEURS, ESTABLISH NEW COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, INVEST IN LATINA ENTREPRENEURS, AND SUPPORT STATE EFFORTS TO PLACE LATINOS IN HIGHER-PAYING JOBS ACROSS THE STATE. THE LCF TEAM WORKED TO LEVERAGE STATE AND FEDERAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT WOULD INCREASE JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH FOR LATINOS.


LINE 4C RAPID RESPONSE INITIATIVE - LCF LEVERAGES ITS ROLE AS A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND ITS KNOWLEDGE OF LATINO-LED NONPROFITS TO RESPOND TO IMMEDIATE AND TIME SENSITIVE MATTERS THAT HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT IN THE WELLBEING OF LATINO COMMUNITIES. THIS INCLUDES LAUNCHING RAPID RESPONSE FUNDS OR DISASTER RELIEF FUNDS TO SUPPORT LOCAL NONPROFITS ON THE FRONTLINES OF SERVING, SUPPORTING, OR ADVOCATING FOR LATINO FAMILIES AND YOUTH.
