THE MAINE IRISH HERITAGE CENTER IS THE HUB OF ALL THINGS IRISH IN MAINE. OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY RESOURCE WHERE CONNECTIONS TO MAINE'S IRISH HISTORY AND CULTURE CAN FLOURISH. INITIATIVES SUPPORTING THE MISSION INCLUDE:-PROTECTING, PRESERVING AND RESTORING THE NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK THAT WAS FORMERLY ST. DOMINIC'S CHURCH, A HUB OF EARLY IRISH COMMUNITY IN MAINE;-PROVIDING A CENTER FOR MAINE'S DIVERSE COMMUNITIES TO SHARE THEIR CULTURAL EXPERIENCES THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS;-HOUSING MAINE'S IRISH GENEALOGICAL CENTER, MUSEUM, ARCHIVES AND LIBRARY, PRESERVING THE STORY OF IRISH HISTORY IN MAINE.
