MREA RETAINS LEGAL COUNSEL TO REVIEW CONTRACTS WITH VARIOUS ENTITIES, GIVE MEMBER DISTRICTS LEGAL COUNSEL REGARDING OPERATION OF THEIR SCHOOL DISTRICTS, AND ASSIST THE ORGANIZATION WITH ANY LEGAL MATTERS THAT WOULD COME BEFORE THE ASSOCIATION AS IT WORKS TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR RURAL SCHOOLS IN MONTANA.
THE MREA BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAVE ELECTED TO FUND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ON FOUR CAMPUSES IN MONTANA WHERE STUDENT TEACHERS ARE ASSIGNED TO A MREA MEMBER SCHOOL DISTRICT. SCHOOL TEACHER RECRUITMENT HAS BEEN AT CRISIS LEVEL FOR THE PAST DECADE AND THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL INITIATIVES THAT MREA USES TO SUPPORT AND ADVOCATE FOR RURAL SCHOOLS IN MONTANA
