THE MISSION OF MDSC IS TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WITH SEVERE DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO REACH THEIR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL BY PROVIDING SERVICES BASED ON THE NEEDS, DESIRES, AND ABILITIES OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS SERVED. THERE ARE FOUR MAJOR COMPONENTS TO THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY MDSC - RESIDENTIAL, DAY/WORK, TRANSPORTATION AND MEDICAL SERVICES. MDSC HAS 10 COMMUNITY INTEGRATED GROUP HOMES WITH CAPACITY OF 4 TO 8 BEDS PER HOME. MDSC PROVIDES 24 HOUR/7 DAYS PER WEEK STAFFING SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS. MDSC PROVIDES A VARIETY OF DAY ACTIVITIES AND WORK OPPORTUNITIES TO 55 DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS 5 DAYS PER WEEK. ACTIVITIES AT OUR DAY SERVICE CENTER INCLUDE LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATION, RECREATION & LEISURE, AND WORK ACTIVITIES. MDSC ALSO PROVIDES OCCUPATIONAL, PHYSICAL, AND SPEECH AND HEARING THERAPY THROUGH THE USE OF PROFESSIONALS THROUGHOUT THE MISSOULA COMMUNITY.

INTENSIVE ADULT COMMUNITY HOME: THE CORPORATION PROVIDES RESIDENTIAL HABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IN GROUP LIVING ENVIRONMENTS. DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONALS PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH DAILY LIVING SKILLS AND ACTIVITIES.


TRANSPORTATION: THE CORPORATION PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION TO ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES CONSISTING OF DAILY COMMUTES TO/FROM THEIR HOMES TO THE DAY SERVICES ACTIVITY CENTER AND COMMUNITY INTEGRATION TRIPS DURING DAY AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES.OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES: MDSC RECEIVES ONE-TIME GRANTS FROM VARIOUS COMMUNITY, STATE OR FEDERAL LEVELS TO PROVIDE GOODS OR SERVICES TO MEET THE SPECIAL NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS SERVED.


INTENSIVE ADULT HABILITATION: THE CORPORATION PROVIDES GROUP DAY/WORK HABILITATIVE SERVICES FOR ADULT INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENT DISABILITIES. ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS ARE CONDUCTED AT THE DAY SERVICES ACTIVITY CENTER AND WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.


ROOM AND BOARD: INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING COMMUNITY HOME SERVICES LIVE IN MDSC GROUP HOMES LOCATED THROUGHOUT MISSOULA. INDIVIDUALS PAY A MONTHLY ROOM AND BOARD FEE TO PAY FOR FOOD, SUPPLIES, UTILITIES AND REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE OF THE HOMES.
