TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: IN 2016, MAIA MOMS PROVIDED TRANSITIONAL HOUSING TO SINGLE MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN. MAIA MOMS HOUSED A TOTAL OF 8 FAMILIES THROUGH THE 2016 YEAR. THESE WOMEN PARTICIPATED IN LIFE SKILLS CLASSES, FINANCIAL EDUCATION, AND CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT. THESE FAMILIES WORKED TO END THEIR CRISIS SITUATIONS AND MOVE INTO STABLE LIVING SITUATIONS.
HOUSEHOLD ASSISTANCE: IN 2016, TWO FAMILIES RECEIVED SUBSIDIES FOR RENTAL ASSISTANCE. THESE MOTHERS RECEIVED A STIPEND WHILE THEY ATTENDED POST-SECONDARY SCHOOL FULL-TIME. DURING THIS TIME, THEY WERE ALSO PARTICIPATING IN FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMMING. THESE TWO PROGRAMS HELPED TO MOVE PARTICIPANTS FORWARD WITH FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AS WELL AS HIGHER EARNING POTENTIAL OVER TIME.
