SERVICE: GREEN CITY FORCE (GCF) CONNECTS THE DOTS BETWEEN YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND THE NEED TO SHIFT TO SUSTAINABILITY AND EQUITY IN OUR CITIES, THROUGH SERVICE ROOTED IN PUBLIC HOUSING COMMUNITIES IN NEW YORK CITY. THROUGH ITS SERVICE CORPS, GCF ENGAGES 18 - 24 YEAR OLD PUBLIC HOUSING RESIDENTS WITH HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS OR EQUIVALENCIES AS AMERICORPS MEMBERS ON LARGE-SCALE ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES IN PUBLIC HOUSING WHILE BUILDING THEIR WORKFORCE SKILLS.
SOCIAL ENTERPRISE: ALONGSIDE ONGOING SUPPORT FOR ALUMNI, GCF DESIGNS AND OPERATES SECTORAL TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVES VIA OUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE WHERE WE SECURE FEE-FOR-SERVICE CONTRACTS AND HIRE BACK OUR GRADUATES AS EMPLOYEES WHILE BUILDING THEIR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND GENERATING UNRESTRICTED FUNDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION.
