Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
DISTRIBUTE FOOD AND SOME HOUSEHOLD ITEMS TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FOOD PROGRAM - DISTRIBUTED 80,988 MEALS TO 2,997 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT OUR SERVICE AREA. WE DO NOT PROVIDE MONETARY SUPPORT SERVICES, SO THE "GRANTS" ARE THE VALUE OF THE GOODS DISTRIBUTED. BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, OUR PATRONS WOULD "SHOP" THE SHELVES FOR THE THINGS THEY NEED AND WE WOULD ENSURE THAT THEY STAYED WITHIN LIMITATIONS BASED ON HOUSEHOLD SIZE. THE PANDEMIC CAUSED US TO CHANGE THIS DRAMATICALLY. PATRONS NOW SHOP FROM A LIST THAT THEY ARE HANDED IN THE PARKING LOT AND THEIR FOOD IS DELIVERED TO THEIR CAR. THIS IS TO ENSURE THEIR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OUR VOLUNTEERS, WHILE STILL ALLOWING THEM A SENSE OF NORMALCY.
HOLIDAY BOX PROGRAM - DISTRIBUTED 5,850 MEALS TO 113 INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT OUR SERVICE AREA FOR THANKSGIVING. THE CHRISTMAS/YEAR-END MEALS ARE PROVIDED BY CAPITAL REGION FOOD PROGRAM FOR ALL TOWNS WE SERVICE, EXCEPT FOR BELMONT, SO WE COVER BELMONT OURSELVES. WE DO NOT PROVIDE MONETARY SUPPORT SERVICES, SO THE "GRANTS" ARE THE VALUE OF THE GOODS DISTRIBUTED.
HOUSEHOLD PROGRAM - DISTRIBUTED BABY SUPPLIES AND HEALTH AND BEAUTY ITEMS. WE PURCHASED ITEMS THAT WERE IN SHORT-SUPPLY DURING THE PANDEMIC TO DISTRIBUTE TO OUR PATRONS.
