WIOA - TO INCREASE THE STATE'S NETWORK OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY SKILLS AND TRAINING FOR LOW INCOME PARTICIPANTS AND DISLOCATED WORKERS TO BECOME SELF SUFFICIENT.


TO INCLUDE ALL VARIOUS OTHER STATE AND LOCAL GRANTS FOCUSED ON WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES BY PROVIDING SKILLS AND TRAINING, AND OTHER WRAP-AROUND SERVICES FOR AREA PARTICIPANTS AND EMPLOYERS.


JOCO WORKS - TO RESKILL AND UPSKILL JOHNSON COUNTY RESIDENTS, INCLUDING PROVIDING SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AS NEEDED, IN ORDER THAT THEY BE BETTER PREPARED TO FILL THE JOB VACANCIES MOST IN DEMAND BY AREA EMPLOYERS AND TO ASSIST BUSINESSES LOCATED IN THE COUNTY WITH THEIR INCUMBENT WORKER AND NEW HIRE TRAINING NEEDS.


YOUTHBUILD DOL - TO SERVE 16-24 YEAR OLD OUT OF SCHOOL, LOW INCOME, UNEMPLOYED/UNDEREMPLOYED YOUNG ADULTS BY PROVIDING THEM EDUCATION, JOB SKILLS, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND WRAP-AROUND SERVICES THAT WILL PREPARE THEM TO BECOME A COMMUNITY LEADER AND OBTAIN A FUTURE CAREER.
