THE NCHCI WILL STRIVE TO ADVANCE HEALTH CARE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE SOLICITATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF REGIONAL AND NATIONAL GRANTS AND BY TAKING A LEADERSHIP ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE HEALTH CARE SECTOR. THE NCHCI WILL PROMOTE JOINT NCHCI/UNIVERSITY EFFORTS TO DEVELOP A WIDE VARIETY OF RESOURCES, PRODUCTS, AND PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THE CONTINUING EDUCATION NEEDS OF HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS PRACTICING IN A WIDE VARIETY OF HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONS. THE NCHCI WILL FOCUS ITS CONTINUING EDUCATION EFFORTS ON RURAL HEALTH CARE.
