GOODWILL PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT SKILLS TO CHALLENGED INDIVIDUALS, SERVES THE COMMUNITY BY HELPING PEOPLE WITH BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT ACHIEVE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE THROUGH TRAINING, EDUCATING, AND EMPLOYMENT. BELOW ARE THE LIST OF THE ORGANIZATION'S VARIOUS PROGRAMS: - 2018 CALIFORNIA MEGAFIRE- NATIONAL DISLOCATED WORKER GRANT (NDWG) GRANT - TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY JOBS RELATED TO CLEAN-UP AND REPAIR ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE NON-PROFIT LANDS IMPACTED BY THE DISASTER AND TO PROVIDE RELATED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IN VENTURA COUNTY. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2021, THE ORGANIZATION INCURRED $247,161 OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM. - WIA YOUTH PROGRAM -TO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH ACCESS TO EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO SUCCEED IN THE LABOR MARKET AND TO MATCH EMPLOYERS WITH SKILLED WORKERS THEY NEED TO COMPETE IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION HAS WIA ADULT PROGRAM WITH SIMILAR PURPOSE WITH WIA YOUTH PROGRAM BUT FOCUSED ON VETERANS AND SPOUSES OF VETERANS. THE ORGANIZATION EXPENDED $581,338 FOR WIA YOUTH AND $147,657 FOR WIA ADULT AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2021. - EXPANDED SUBSIDIZED JOB PLACEMENT PROGRAM THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO ASSIST CALIFORNIA WORK OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO KIDS (CALWORKS) CUSTOMERS TO OBTAIN WORK EXPERIENCE SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND THIS ACHIEVE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY THROUGH UNSUBSIDIZED EMPLOYMENT AND THEREBY CEASE THEIR FINANCIAL DEPENDENCE ON CALWORKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2021, THE ORGANIZATION INCURRED $271,029 OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM.- WIA YOUTH PROGRAM VENTURA COUNTY - TO PROVIDE SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES TO INCREASE THE EDUCATION, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS, ATTAINMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OF PARTICIPANTS IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE WORKFORCE, REDUCE WELFARE DEPENDENCY, INCREASE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND ENHANCE THE PRODUCTIVITY OF OUR COMMUNITY. WIOA PLACES AN EMPHASIS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CAREER PATHWAYS. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2021, THE ORGANIZATION INCURRED $289,829 OF EXPENSES RELATED TO THIS PROGRAM.THE MAJORITY OF GOODWILLS PROGRAM EXPENSES ARE INCURRED BY OUR STORE OPERATIONS WHICH DRIVE THE REVENUE TO SUPPORT OUR VARIOUS PROGRAMS. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF VENTURA AND SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES COLLECTS, PROCESSES, AND SELLS USED DONATED GOODS FROM THE COMMUNITY WHICH IN TURN ALLOWS THE ORGANIZATION TO ORGANIZE AND OPERATE SHELTERED WORKSHOPS WHERE PEOPLE WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES ARE ABLE TO LEARN SKILLS IN ORDER TO SECURE MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT.
