THE MISSION OF THE LOMPOC DISTRICT LIBRARIES FOUNDATION IS TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT NOT GENERALLY AVAILABLE FROM GOVERNMENT SOURCES TO LOMPOC ZONE 2 LIBRARIES. THE FUNDING DEVELOPED SUPPORTS CAPITAL PROJECTS AND ENHANCED READING MATERIALS AND OPTIONS.

THE LOMPOC DISTRICT LIBRARIES FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING FOR THE OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE OF THE CHARLOTTES WEB CHILDRENS LIBRARY BOOKMOBILE. THE FUNDS WERE PROJECTED TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL SUPPORT FOR THE BOOKMOBILES OPERATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF 18 MONTHS.


THE BOOK ENDOWMENTS OF THE LOMPOC DISTRICT LIBRARIES FOUNDATION CONTINUE TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING FOR THE FORMER ZONE 2 BUELLTON LIBRARY. FUNDS CONTRIBUTED BY THE BUELLTON COMMUNITY SUPPORTS THEIR INDIVIDUAL BOOK ENDOWMENT FUND. THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION INVESTS THOSE CONTRIBUTIONS AND DISTRIBUTES THE EARNINGS BACK TO SUPPLEMENT THE DIGITAL RESOURCE ELEMENT OF THE ADULT & CHILDRENS BOOK AND MATERIALS BUDGETS. THIS YEAR THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED THE FOLLOWING FUNDS TO THE BUELLTON LIBRARY: $2,200.THE POPULATION SERVED BY THIS FORMER ZONE 2 LIBRARY IS 10,659.


THE BOOK ENDOWMENTS OF THE LOMPOC DISTRICT LIBRARIES FOUNDATION PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING TO THE CITY OF LOMPOCS ZONE 2 LIBRARIES ADULT & CHILDRENS BOOK AND MATERIALS BUDGETS. EACH COMMUNITY SERVED CONTRIBUTES TO, AND SUPPORTS THEIR INDIVIDUAL BOOK ENDOWMENT FUND. THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION INVESTS THOSE CONTRIBUTIONS AND DISTRIBUTES THE EARNINGS BACK TO THE CONTRIBUTING COMMUNITYS LIBRARY. BOOK AND MATERIALS BUDGETS ARE THE MOST FRAGILE ELEMENT OF THIS DISTRICTS LIBRARIES. THIS YEAR THE LIBRARY FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED THE FOLLOWING FUNDS TO THE LIBRARIES OF:CHARLOTTES WEB BOOKMOBILE $ 2,200;LOMPOC $ 4,500;VANDENBERG VILLAGE $ 6,200; FOR A TOTAL OF: $ 12,900. THE POPULATION SERVED BY THE ZONE 2 LIBRARIES TOTALS 59,977.
