CURATION AND CONSERVATION: THE FOUNDATION PRESERVES AND PREPARES OBJECTS FROM THE COLLECTION FOR PRESENTATION AND INTERPRETATION AT THE WALT DISNEY FAMILY MUSEUM (WDFM) AND FOR LOANS TO OTHER INSTITUTIONS. THE CURATION AND CONSERVATION OF THE COLLECTION'S ART, EPHEMERA, AND MEMORABILIA TO INSURE THE SAFETY AND LONGEVITY OF THE OBJECTS IS AN ONGOING MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION.
WALT DISNEY'S BARN:WALT DISNEY'S BARN IS A MUSEUM IN GRIFFITH PARK, LOS ANGELES THAT PRESENTS TO THE PUBLIC THE HISTORY OF WALT DISNEY'S INTEREST IN RAILROADING. IT IS A MINIATURE BARN ONCE USED BY WALT DISNEY AS A MACHINE SHOP WHILE OPERATING HIS MINIATURE "LIVE STEAM" CAROLWOOD PACIFIC RAILROAD LAYOUT IN THE BACKYARD OF HIS HOME IN HOLMBY HILLS. THE BARN IS CURRENTLY OPEN THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH. THE BARN IS OPERATED BY THE CAROLWOOD FOUNDATION.
