CARE FRESNO'S MISSION IS TO TRAIN PEOPLE AND CHURCHES TO ADDRESS POVERTY BY INVESTING IN COMMUNITIES WITH FEW RESOURCES AND MENTORING AT-RISK YOUTH AND FAMILY. EACH YEAR, CARE FRESNO STAFF AND INTERNS MOVE INTO HIGH-CRIME NEIGHBORHOODS AND DEVELOP PROGRAMS FOR SOCIOECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED YOUTH AND FAMILIES IN THE APARTMENTS WHERE THEY LIVE. OUR CURRENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: CARE CLUB AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS HELD WITHIN FRESNO'S HIGHEST CRIME APARTMENT COMPLEXES, GIVING CHILDREN ACCESS TO TUTORING, READING, ARTS AND SPORTS AS WELL AS PROVIDING THEM WITH A SAFE PLACE DURING HAZARDOUS TIMES OF EACH DAY. OUR ANNUAL CARE CAMP GIVES YOUTH THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND A ONE-WEEK CAMP FILLED WITH TEAM GAMES, HIKES, SINGING, CAMPFIRES AND INSPIRING SPEAKERS. CARE FRESNO'S MISSION CARE IS A YEAR-LONG URBAN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM OFFERING WEEKLY CLASSES IN URBAN INTERNSHIP AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.
