TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE FRESNO CITY PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS.

TEEN FRESNO: AKA YOUTH JOB PREP PROGRAM (YJPP) PROVIDED SOFT-SKILL JOB TRAINING FOR YOUTH TO HELP THEM BECOME BETTER PREPARED FOR THE WORK WORLD. YOUTH LEARNED TO PREPARE A RESUME, PARTICIPATED IN MOCK INTERVIEWS, JOB SHADOWING SITE VISITS TO LOCAL COMPANIES, AND INTERNSHIPS. THERE WERE 713 PARTICIPANTS AND 155 INTERNSHIPS. SOME OF THE PARTICIPANTS OBTAINED JOBS IMMEDIATELY AFTER COMPLETING THE PROGRAM.


KAISER LEARNER POOL: YOUTH PROGRAMS PROVIDED AT THE POOL FOR FAMILY SWIM, LIFEGUARD PROGRAM, EDISON SWIM LESSONS, AND LEARNER POOL SPECIAL EVENTS. THIS PROGRAM INCREASES THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS OF THE CITY. THE PROGRAM ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS TO SWIM TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING. THERE WERE 6,529 PARTICIPANTS DURING THE PROGRAM'S YEAR.


FUSD SWIM LESSON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OFFERING SWIMMING LESSON AT FRESNO, HOOVER, SUNNYSIDE AND BULLARD HIGH SCHOOLS. PARTICIPANTS CAN CHOOSE THE LOCATION THAT WORKS THE BEST FOR THEM. THE CITY OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE CHILDREN OF FAMILIES IN NEED. THERE WERE 750 PARTICIPANTS WHO RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE SWIM LESSON PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 3 TO 12 YEARS OF AGE.


VARIOUS OTHER PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH TO INCREASE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR FRESNO AREA RESIDENTS. THE PROGRAMS PROMOTE FUN, HEALTHY, FAMILY-ORIENTED ENVIRONMENT FOR FAMILIES WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.
