THE DISTRICT MONITORS AND COORDINATES THE ACTIVITIES OF SOME 57 ROTARY CLUBS AND APPROXIMATELY 2,700 ROTARIANS IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, INCLUDING THE PACIFIC COAST AND SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY. IT PROVIDES EDUCATION AND INFORMATION ABOUT ROTARY INTERNATIONAL'S WORLD AND LOCAL SERVICE INITIATIVES.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - CAMP ROYALS ARE SPONSORED BY ROTARY AND ARE ONE WEEK IN DURATION. ONE CAMP IS HELD FOR HIGH SCHOOL AGED YOUNG MEN AND THE OTHER IS FOR YOUNG WOMEN. THE CAMPS PROVIDE INSTRUCTION ABOUT LEADERSHIP, LIFE, AND PERSONAL SKILLS. THEY INCLUDE PRESENTATIONS BY ADULTS AND MENTORS THAT HAVE ACCOMPLISHED RECORDS OF SUCCESS IN THESE AREAS. THE PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE IN "HANDS ON" PROJECTS TO IMPLEMENT THE SKILLS THEY ARE LEARNING AT THE CAMPS.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE PROGRAM - THE FOREIGN EXCHANGE PROGRAM INVOLVES EXCHANGE STUDENTS WHERE ROTARY CLUBS SPONSOR BOTH AN OUTBOUND US STUDENT AND AN INBOUND FOREIGN STUDENT FOR THEIR FINAL YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION.
