EDUCATION:UPPO OFFERS EDUCATIONAL EVENTS FOR BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS. ITS MAIN EDUCATIONAL EVENTS INCLUDE WEBINARS AND THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE WITH MEMBERSHIP BUSINESS MEETING.ANNUAL CONFERENCE:UPPO HAS CONDUCTED AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE WHICH IS TYPICALLY A THREE-DAY EDUCATIONAL EVENT THAT PROVIDES IN-DEPTH EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR UNCLAIMED PROPERTY PROFESSIONALS. IN ADDITION, THERE IS ALSO AN EXHIBITOR AREA. THE FISCAL YEAR 2021-2022 ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA AND REPORTED INCOME OF $490,704 AND EXPENSES OF $406,048. THERE ARE TRACKS BASED ON LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE; BASIC, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED. SOME OF THE TOPICS INCLUDE:-UNCLAIMED PROPERTY BASICS-LEGISLATIVE AND LEGAL UPDATE-THE ABC'S OF AUDITS-UNCLAIMED PROPERTY REFORM-POLICIES AND PROCEDURES-CONTACT BASICS-ASSET RECOVERY-AUDIT BASICS-HOLDERS' RIGHTS-MERGERS, ACQUISITIONS AND DIVESTITURES-ELECTRONIC REPORTINGCERTIFICATE PROGRAM:THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR UNCLAIMED PROPERTY PRACTITIONERS TO COMPLETE NINE ONLINE COURSES AND TO ATTEND SEVERAL SESSIONS AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, PASSING A TEST AFTER COMPLETING EACH SECTION. UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION INDICATING THEY HAVE MASTERED THE BASICS OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY COMPLIANCE. PARTICIPATION WAS LIMITED TO 65 PEOPLE TO ALLOW UPPO TO MONITOR THE PROGRAM AND MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS NECESSARY. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED NET INCOME OF $33,650.
