OUR MISSION IS TO FEED BRAZORIA COUNTY'S HUNGRY THROUGH FOOD DISTRIBUTION, EDUCATION, COLLABORATION, AND ADVOCACY. BRAZOSPORT CARES FOOD PANTRY CONTINUES TO LEAD THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER IN THE BRAZOSPORT COMMUNITY BY OPERATING A COMMUNITY SUPPORTED FOOD PANTRY, AND A WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM FOR HUNGRY KIDS.

ALONG WITH FOOD ASSISTANCE, THE PANTRY PROVIDES REFERRALS TO OTHER SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES TO HELP ADDRESS THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS OF RESIDENTS. THROUGHOUT 2021, THE PANTRY PROVIDED 891,680 MEALS AND ASSISTED 7,991 UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS FACING HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY.
POWERPACKS IS A WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ALLEVIATE CHILDHOOD HUNGER BY PROVIDING CHRONICALLY HUNGRY STUDENTS WITH EASY-TO-PREPARE NUTRITIOUS FOOD. PROPER NUTRITION IS VITAL TO GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT. WITHOUT A BACKPACK THESE CHILDREN HAVE NO OR MEAGER MEALS FROM FRIDAY LUNCH UNTIL MONDAY MORNING.
