REDUCE HUNGER AND HELP THE ENVIRONMENT BY CONNECTING SURPLUS FOOD WITH OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED.

IN 2022, WE WORKED WITH OVER 90 FOOD PERMITTED BUSINESSES AND OVER 80 NONPROFIT PARTNERS TO RESCUE AND REDISTRIBUTE OVER 1,000,000 POUNDS OF UNSOLD FOOD, PROVIDING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED.IN 2022, STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS PRESENTED TO GROUPS OF ALL AGES, SERVED ON PANEL DISCUSSIONS, AND WORKED WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO EDUCATE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT THE PREVALENCE FOOD WASTE AND FOOD INSECURITY, AND HOW KEEP AUSTIN FED WORKS TO BRIDGE THAT GAP TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR BOTH. KEEP AUSTIN FED WORKED WITH VARIOUS CITY AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS AS A STRONG ADVOCATE TO FORMULATE FOOD PERMITTING POLICY TO ASSIST CHARITABLE FEEDING ORGANIZATIONS IN PROVIDING A MUCH NEEDED SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY.
