AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOOD BANK, OUR VISION IS A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO SUFFICIENT, NUTRITIOUS FOOD. THROUGH OUR NETWORK OF MORE THAN 70 PARTNER AGENCIES, INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICTS, AND MOBILE MARKET PROGRAMS, WE DISTRIBUTED OVER 11 MILLION MEALS TO APPROXIMATELY 65,750 INDIVIDUALS EACH MONTH IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021. ADDITIONALLY, MONTGOMERY COUNTY FOOD BANK WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL FOOD RETAILERS AND WHOLESALERS TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR FOOD WASTE BY RESCUING PRODUCE THAT WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO THE LANDFILL. AS A PART OF OUR GREEN INTITIATIVES PROGRAM, THE FOOD BANK OPERATES AN ONSITE PRODUCE RESCUE CENTER THAT ALLOWS US TO DISTIBUTE FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, EMPHASIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABILITY AND HEALTH FOOD CHOICES.
