OGS HOSTED THE 28TH ANNUAL SUSTAINABLE LIVING SPRING CONFERENCE, WHICH IS THE LARGEST GRASSROOTS GATHERING OF THIS KIND IN THE SOUTHEASTERN US, ATTRACTING OVER 1900 ATTENDEES FROM 28 STATES IN 2021. OGS CONDUCTS WORKSHOPS, MAINTAINS A BLOG, EDUCATIONAL WEBSITE, AND MONTHLY NEWSLETTER FOR HOME GARDENERS AND CONSUMERS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, PROMOTING HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE LIVING.
OGS OFFERS A ONE-DAY EXPLORATORY WORKSHOP ENTITLED "FARM DREAMS? EXPLORE YOUR VISION,X AND HELD THE EVENT TWICE IN 2021 TO HELP ASPIRING NEW FARMERS ON THEIR WAY TO SUCCESSFUL FARM BUSINESSES. OGS OFFERS TRAINING TO COMMERCIAL FARMERS AND ASPIRING FARMERS THROUGH A FARMER- MENTORING PROGRAM CALLED CRAFT (COLLABORATIVE REGIONAL ALLIANCE FOR FARMER TRAINING). OVER HALF OF CRAFT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE CATEGORIZED BY THE USDA AS MINORITY OR LIMITED RESOURCE FARMERS, AND 100% OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS REPORT A CHANGE IN KNOWLEDGE OR CAPABILITY AS A RESULT OF PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM.
