TO PROVIDE SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES OF SURVIVING AND DECEASED SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME ("SBS") CHILDREN, PROVIDE PREVENTION EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT, CHILD WELFARE PROFESSIONALS AND THE COMMUNITY, AND TO SEEK JUSTICE FOR ALL VICTIMS.

SBA OFFERS THE FOLLOWING THREE PROGRAMS: (1) FAMILY SUPPORT - OUTREACH TO VICTIM FAMILIES WHO ARE OFTEN LEFT BEHIND AND NOT SERVED BY OTHER PROGRAMS. (2) TRAINING - PROVIDE A FULL RANGE OF FORENSIC INVESTIGATIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR PROFESSIONALS INCLUDING LAW ENFORCEMENT, CHILD PROTECTION, MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS, AND LEGAL PROFESSIONALS RELATED TO CHILD PHYSICAL ABUSE AND CHILD WELFARE ISSUES. WE ALSO TRAIN HIGH SCHOOL AND YOUTH GROUPS WITH TOOLS TO COPE WITH A CRYING BABY AND REDUCE THE RISK OF SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME (SIDS). (3) CASE CONSULTATION - PROVIDING CASE CONSULTATION SERVICES NATIONWIDE RELATED TO CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN AND THE ELDERLY. SINCE 1998, WE HAVE PROVIDED SUPPORT TO OVER 4800 VICTIM FAMILY MEMBERS, TRAINED OVER 5800 HIGH SCHOOLERS IN HOW TO DEAL WITH A CRYING BABY AND SIDS RISK REDUCTION, AND PROVIDED ADVANCED FORENSIC INVESTIGATION TRAINING AND CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION TRAINING TO OVER 16,700 PROFESSIONALS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE PROVIDED OVER 1,800 CASE CONSULTATIONS.
