THE BOARD'S MISSION, IN A PARTNERSHIP WITH GOOD SHEPHERD MEDICAL CENTER, IS TO PROMOTE AND PROVIDE PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT TO FUND PROGRAMS AND SERVICES, PROVIDE COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND ENSURE THAT ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE SERVICES REMAINS AVAILABLE TO ALL PERSONS REGARDLESS OF ABILITY TO PAY. OUR ROOTS BEGAN IN 1984 UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD GUILD, A VOLUNTEER GROUP OF 60 WOMEN. THE GUILD VOLUNTEERS THEIR TIME AND TALENTS IN SUPPORT OF GOOD SHEPHERD MEDICAL CENTER THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. GOLD RUSH HAS NETTED MORE THAN $8 MILLION DOLLARS IN SUPPORT OF SUCH PROJECTS. OVER 450 BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS SUPPORT GOLD RUSH THROUGH UNDERWRITING TABLES, AUCTION ITEMS, AND VARIOUS NECESSITIES THAT MAKE THE EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS. ANOTHER PART OF THAT SUCCESS IS ATTRIBUTED TO THE 165 GOOD SHEPHERD EMPLOYEES WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AS GREETERS, FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVERS, VALET PARKING ATTENDANTS, CASHIERS AND SILENT AUCTION MONITORS THROUGHOUT THE EVENING.
