Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

PBALC USES SEVERAL STRATEGIES TO EDUCATE ADULTS AFFECTED BY ADULT LITERACY. THESE STRATEGIES INCLUDE PROVIDING ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING SERVICES, OFFERING SMALL GROUP CLASSES, SELF-PACED PROGRAMS AND OFFERING SPECIALTY LITERACY PROGRAMS TO HELP ADULTS IMPROVE THEIR BASIC LITERACY SKILLS. OUR PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED BOTH VIRTUALLY AND IN-PERSON- AND WE TAILOR EACH STUDENTS PLANS ACCORDING TO THEIR GOALS STATED DURING THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS. IN ADDITION, WE OFFER CITIZENSHIP COURSES, BOOK CLUB CLASSES, CONVERSATIONAL CAFÉ CLASSES, LEARNING CIRCLES, OUR INFORMATIONAL LIVE STREAM SHOWS AND OTHER SPECIAL CLASS OFFERINGS AT VARIOUS TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE ARE ABLE TO BE FLEXIBLE AND INNOVATIVE IN OUR PROGRAM OFFERINGS, AND USE THE MOST UP TO DATE ADULT LEARNING AND EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM AVAILABLE. WE ALSO EFFECTIVELY PARTNER WITH ORGANIZATIONS LIKE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, WORKFORCE PROGRAMS, AND OTHER ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN THE AREA. PBALC KNOWS THAT THE REAL IMPACT OF OUR PROGRAM IS SEEN IN THE EVERYDAY INTERACTIONS WITH OUR STUDENTS. WHEN WE HELP ADULTS DEVELOP THEIR LITERACY SKILLS, WE EQUIP PARENTS TO ADVOCATE FOR THEIR CHILDREN; WE BUILD RESUMES; WE GIVE DIGNITY TO THOSE WHO HAVE LOST HOPE. OUR IMPACT RIPPLES THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY AS OUR STUDENTS' LIVES INTERSECT WITH OTHERS, AND THEY WORK WITHIN THEIR OWN FAMILIES TO END THE GENERATIONAL CYCLE OF LIMITED LITERACY. FOR THIS REASON, OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY LITERACY SERVICES TO EVERY ADULT IN OUR COMMUNITY WHO WANTS AND NEEDS THEM. MORE THAN 130 STUDENTS RECEIVED ADULT LITERACY SERVICES DURING 2022.
