THE ASSOCIATION FOR UNIVERSITY BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC RESEARCH (AUBER) IS INVOLVED WITH ONE CONFERENCE DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 2023-24. THE 2023 FALL CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. AUBER HOSTS ONLINE WEBINARS AND ONE IN-PERSON ANNUAL CONFERENCE EACH YEAR FOR MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION, GRADUATE STUDENTS, ECONOMISTS, AND RESEARCHERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND PARIS, FRANCE. THE CONFERENCE IS HOSTED BY AN AUBER MEMBER ORGANIZATION AND INCLUDES KEYNOTE SESSIONS RELATED TO NATIONAL ECONOMIC TRENDS AND FORECASTING AS WELL AS BREAKOUT SESSIONS FOR RESEARCHERS, DIRECTORS, AND COMMUNICATORS. A PRECONFERENCE WORKSHOP PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING. WORKSHOPS PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR FROM EXPERTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL (INCLUDING BLS, CENSUS, BEA, ETC), OR TO LEARN A TRANSFERRABLE SKILL SPECIFIC TO THEIR AREA OF EXPERTISE. AUBER COLLABORATES WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS ECONOMISTS (NABE) TO HOST A SESSION DURING THEIR SPRING ECONOMIC POLICY CONFERENCE. AUBER MEMBERS AND BOARD MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUPPORT NABE CONFERENCES, AS WELL AS THOSE OF SIMILAR ECONOMICS ORGANIZATIONS (SRSA, WRSA, MCRSA, AEA, CUPSO, ETC.).ASSOCIATION MEMBERS MONITOR ECONOMIC CONDITIONS IN THEIR LOCAL AREAS AND ARE CALLED UPON TO ADVISE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE DECISION MAKERS ABOUT LOCAL POLICY AND TRENDS. ASSOCIATION MEMBERS WORK WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATORS TO FULFILL THEIR SERVICE OBLIGATIONS TO THE PUBLIC.
