ENRICHING PROGRAMS: SUPER HEROS MENTORING, A HOLISTIC MENTORING PROGRAM WITH A FIVE PILLAR FOUNDATION THAT INCLUDES: 1) MENTOR TRAINING, 2) SEMI-MONTHLY INTERACTION BETWEEN MENTORS AND MENTEES, 3) CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR MENTORS, 4) BI-MONTHLY ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE FUN AND GROUP SOCIALIZATION BETWEEN ALL CHILDREN AND MENTORS IN THE PROGRAM, AND 5) MENTOR APPRECIATION EVENTS.CAMP HIGH FIVE, A ONE WEEK SUMMER CAMP WITH RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN AFFECTED BY HIV/AIDS. CHILDREN EXPERIENCE A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ARCHERY, FISHING, ROCK WALL CLIMBING AND BOATING.
TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD, AN INTERVENTION VIA WHICH HIGH SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN ATTEND AN ANNUAL, WEEKEND RETREAT, AS WELL AS SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THAT ADDRESS TOPICS INCLUDING THE COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS, IDENTIFYING ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS, ACCESSING INTERNSHIPS, RESUME' WRITING, INTERVIEWING SKILLS AND APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR. THE GOALS OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO FURNISH OUR ADOLESCENTS WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO SUCCEED IN COLLEGE (IF THEY CHOOSE TO PURSUE THAT OPTION), SECURE FULFILLING JOBS, ESTABLISH CAREERS AND BECOME PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.
