Part 3 - Line 1
OUR MISSION IS TO CONNECT, SUPPORT, AND EDUCATE INDIVIDUALS FACING CANCER AND OTHER DISEASES THROUGH STRATEGIES THAT HELP TO REBUILD THE BODY, RESTORE THE SOUL AND RENEW THE SPIRIT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
AFTER BEING DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER IN 2009, FOUNDER OF HEALING STRONG, SUZY GRISWOLD, SAW A NEED IN HER LOCAL COMMUNITY FOR RADICAL HEALTH CHANGE AND A NEW MINDSET ON HOW INDIVIDUALS APPROACH HEALING. HEALING STRONG WAS CREATED WITH THE PURPOSE OF SERVING LOCAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE-BASED EDUCATION WHICH TEACHES THOSE STRUGGLING WITH CANCER AND OTHER CHRONIC DISEASES TO REBUILD THE BODY, RENEW THE SOUL, AND REFRESH THE SPIRIT. HEALING STRONG ACCOMPLISHES THIS 3-STEP APPROACH TO HEALING THROUGH THE HELP OF OVER 200 VOLUNTEERS NATIONWIDE WHO LEAD INDIVIDUAL HEALING STRONG GROUPS. THESE GROUPS MEET EITHER IN RESIDENTIAL HOMES, ONLINE, OR IN SPACES PROVIDED TO THEM BY THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND TEACH CURRICULUM WHICH IS WRITTEN, REVIEWED, AND PUBLISHED BY MEMBERS OF THE HEALING STRONG TEAM. OUR GROUPS ARE FREE, VOLUNTEER LED, AND PLACE AN EMPHASIS ON HEALING AS A LIFESTYLE RATHER THAN AS A MEANS TO THE END OF A DIAGNOSIS. WE BELIEVE WE CAN LIVE WHOLE-HEARTED LIVES WHEN WE BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THAT OUR HEALING TAKES PLACE FROM THE INSIDE OUT. EACH HEALING STRONG GROUP LEADER RECEIVES SUPPORT VIA THE FOLLOWING: A VOLUNTEER MENTOR WHO OVERSEES THEIR GROUP AND IS AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS OR RESOURCES, MONTHLY GROUP LEADER TRAINING AND SUPPORT ZOOM CALLS, AN ONLINE PORTAL WHICH CONTAINS WEBINARS, EBOOKS, VIDEOS, LESSON PLANS AND LEADER GUIDE AND FINALLY, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT FROM OUR GROUP LEADER CHAPLAIN. HEALING STRONG IS PRIMARILY LED BY VOLUNTEERS, BUT WE HAVE A SMALL SUPPORT STAFF WHICH INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING TEAM MEMBERS: ~SUZY GRISWOLD, FOUNDER AND CEO ~EMILY SABBAGH, COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT ~MAREN PELLEGRINO, MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR ~JOY MOLETA, WEB DESIGNER ~SARAH HILBURN, BOOKKEEPER ~JANET EVERHART, GROUP LEADER COORDINATOR ~JACQUELINE GENOVA, PODCAST COORDINATOR HEALING STRONG IS ALSO MAINTAINED BY THE GUIDANCE AND EXPERTISE OF OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHO OVERSEE ALL COMPANY OPERATIONS AND DECISIONS. IN 2021, HEALING STRONG WAS ABLE TO REACH 20,000 INDIVIDUALS. WE REACH THESE INDIVIDUALS THROUGH OUR HEALING STRONG GROUPS, OUR ONLINE CURRICULUM AND WEBINARS, OUR CORPORATE PARTNER PROGRAM, AND OUR DISCIPLESHIP INITIATIVE CALLED AROUND THE WORD IN 80 DAYS.
