Part 3 - Line 4a
HEALING STRONG IS AN ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY SUZY GRISWOLD IN 2013, FOLLOWING HER PERSONAL BATTLE WITH CANCER. RECOGNIZING THE NEED FOR A RADICAL SHIFT IN HOW INDIVIDUALS APPROACH HEALING AND WELLNESS, HEALING STRONG WAS CREATED TO SERVE LOCAL COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE- BASED EDUCATION IN COMMUNITY GROUP SETTINGS. THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO EMPOWER THOSE STRUGGLING WITH CANCER AND OTHER CHRONIC DISEASES TO REBUILD THEIR BODIES, RENEW THEIR SOULS, AND REFRESH THEIR SPIRIT IN GOD'S WORD. HEALINGSTRONG PROMOTES A HOLISTIC, 3-PILLAR APPROACH, WHICH EMPHASIZES HEALING AS A LIFESTYLE RATHER THAN A MEANS TO AN END. TO ACHIEVE THIS MISSION, HEALING STRONG RELIES ON A DEDICATED TEAM OF OVER 200 VOLUNTEERS NATIONWIDE WHO LEAD INDIVIDUAL HEALING STRONG GROUPS. THESE GROUPS MEET IN VARIOUS SETTINGS, INCLUDING RESIDENTIAL HOMES, ONLINE PLATFORMS, AND SPACES PROVIDED BY LOCAL COMMUNITIES. THE CURRICULUM USED IN THESE GROUPS IS CAREFULLY WRITTEN, REVIEWED, AND PUBLISHED BY MEMBERS OF THE HEALING STRONG TEAM. WHAT SETS HEALING STRONG APART IS ITS COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT FOR GROUP LEADERS. EACH LEADER IS PAIRED WITH A VOLUNTEER MENTOR WHO OVERSEES THEIR GROUP AND OFFERS GUIDANCE AND RESOURCES. ADDITIONALLY, GROUP LEADERS RECEIVE ONGOING TRAINING AND SUPPORT THROUGH MONTHLY ZOOM CALLS AND ACCESS TO AN ONLINE PORTAL FILLED WITH WEBINARS, EBOOKS, VIDEOS, LESSON PLANS, AND LEADER GUIDES. EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL SUPPORT FROM A TRAINED AND VOLUNTEER GROUP LEADER CHAPLAIN IS ALSO AVAILABLE TO EACH GROUP LEADER. IN ESSENCE, HEALING STRONG IS DRIVEN BY THE BELIEF THAT HEALING IS NOT ONLY PHYSICAL BUT ALSO EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL. BY PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE-BASED EDUCATION, EMPHASIZING A LIFESTYLE APPROACH TO HEALING, AND OFFERING EXTENSIVE SUPPORT TO THOSE STRUGGLING WITH CANCER AND CHRONIC DISEASES, HEALING STRONG AIMS TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS ON THEIR JOURNEY TOWARDS WELLNESS. ALTHOUGH HEALING STRONG IS PRIMARILY LED BY VOLUNTEERS, THERE IS A SMALL SUPPORT STAFF THAT ASSISTS IN THE ORGANIZATION'S OPERATIONS AND INITIATIVES: SUZY GRISWOLD, FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR JANET EVERHART, GROUP LEADER COORDINATOR MYA METZEL, DIGITAL MEDIA AND PARTNER ENGAGEMENT ADDITIONAL CONTRACTUAL SUPPORT FOR WEB/IT SUPPORT, VIRTUAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOOKKEEPING SUPPORT, ALONG WITH PODCAST HOSTING MAKES UP THE REST OF THE HOME OFFICE TEAM.
