PROVIDE FAMILIES IN NEED WITH NEW SCHOOL CLOTHING AND SHOES TO STUDENTS IN GEORGETOWN, JARRELL, FLORENCE, GRANGER, AND TAYLOR ISD. TOTAL SERVED 1527 FOR OSB.
OUTREACH - THIS PROGRAM IS AN EXTENSION OF OUR OPERATION SCHOOL BELL UMBRELLA TO DEAL WITH FOOD INSECURITY AND OTHER SITUATIONS INVOLVING COUNTY CHILDREN AND FAMILIES BY PROVIDING FOOD, CLOTHING AND OTHER NEEDED GOODS. THIS PROGRAM'S CLIENTS CHANGE YEAR OVER YEAR DEPENDING ON SITUATIONS THAT ARE PRESENTED TO ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF GEORGETOWN AREA DURING THAT YEAR. THIS YEAR WE SPENT 11,504 AND SERVED 190. HELPING HANDS WAS PROVIDED FOOD AND OTHER NEEDED GOODS FOR COUNTY FAMILIES. OTHER OUTREACH: WE GAVE MONEY TO 3 NON-PROFITS TO BE USED FOR FOOD, CLOTHING, AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS: 1.GRANGER ISD TO PROVIDE HELP FOR TORNADO VICTIMS THAT RESIDED WITHIN THE DISTRICT. 2.WCCAC-WILLIAMSON COUNTY CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER. 3.CASA-WILLIAMSON COUNTY'S COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES
PROVIDE HANDS-ON READING MENTORING TO 506 1ST AND 2ND GRADE STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, PROVIDE GUIDED LITERACY MATERIAL AND BOOKS TO CLASSROOMS TO IMPROVE THE SUCCESS RATE OF ANOTHER 1,487 STUDENTS.
OPERATION SHARE-REDISTRIBUTE ITEMS DONATED THAT ARE DETERMINED UNSUITABLE FOR SALE TO MORE APPROPRIATE NON-PROFIT AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS. SCHOLARSHIP-PROVIDED 17 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GEORGETOWN, FLORENCE, AND JARRELL ISD STUDENTS TO ATTEND TEXAS COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, OR TRADE SCHOOLS. IN ADDITION, PROVIDED 34 FIRST YEAR TEACHERS WITH TEACHER SUPPLY STORE GIFT CARDS TO HELP SET UP THEIR NEW CLASSROOMS. NEW FRIENDS-VISITATION AND MONTHLY BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR RESIDENTS IN THE BADER HOUSE, A GEORGETOWN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY.
