THE WACO ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION STRIVES TO FUND CREATIVE, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS NOT COVERED BY SCHOOL BUDGETS OR TAX DOLLARS, THUS OUR MOTTO, "RAISING THE POWER OF EDUCATION!" MORE THAN 93% OF ALL FOUNDATION EXPENSES FUND WACO ISD CLASSROOM GRANTS AND STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS. THE FOUNDATION WAS FOUNDED FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECEIVING AND DISBURSING FUNDS, PROPERTY AND GIFTS OF ANY KIND EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE WACO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.

BY FUNDING INNOVATIVE EDUCATOR GRANTS, THE WACO ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION IS ABLE TO IMPACT OUR STUDENTS, TEACHERS, CLASSROOMS AND ENTIRE DISTRICT. THE FOUNDATION SEEKS TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR WACO ISD TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS BY AWARDING GRANTS IN FOUR FOCUS AREAS: EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT, ENHANCED PROGRAMMING FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS, EXTENDED EDUCATION FOR STAFF, AND EMPHASIS ON STUDENT PERFORMANCE. TO DATE, THE FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED OVER $1,992,7214 IN 555 GRANTS TO WISD TEACHERS.
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECOGNIZE STUDENTS FOR THEIR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS, LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AS WELL AS A CONDUIT TO PROVIDE HIGHER EDUCATION OPPORTUNIIES. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ALSO A GREAT MEMORIAL TO LOVED ONES AND PROVIDE A LASTING LEGACY. TO DATE, THE FOUNDATION HAS AWARDED $389,350 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO WACO ISD GRADUATES.
