MEDICAL INSTITUTE FOR SEXUAL HEALTH'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PEOPLE WORLDWIDE WITH MEDICALLY ACCURATE INFORMATION TO MAKE WELL EDUCATED DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR SEXUAL HEALTH. OUR ORGANIZATION DISSEMINATES THE MOST UP-TO-DATE RESEARCH AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO EQUIP POLICYMAKERS, EDUCATORS, AND FAMILIES TO MAKE INFORMED HEALTHY CHOICES. THE ORGANIZATION'S THREE-PART STRATEGY INCLUDES PROVIDING INDEPENDENT, MEDICALLY ACCURATE RESEARCH, SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION AND INFLUENCE-FOCUSED LEADERSHIP.

OUR MAJOR PROGRAMS ARE AS FOLLOWS: (1) CAMPAIGN TO ADDRESS SEXUAL HEALTH EPIDEMIC. THE ORGANIZATION IS DEVELOPING A CAMPAIGN THAT ADDRESSES THE SEXUAL HEALTH EPIDEMIC. OUR PLAN IS TO INSPIRE YOUNG ADULTS AGES 14-21, ESPECIALLY AT-RISK WOMEN, TO PROTECT THEIR FUTURE BY PRESENTING STORIES BACKED BY RESEARCH THAT ARE RELATABLE TO THEM. THROUGH OUR CAMPAIGN, WE WILL SHARE THE FACTS DIRECTLY WITH THOSE THAT NEED IT MOST-YOUNG ADULTS. THE ORGANIZATION ANTICIPATES LAUNCHING THIS CAMPAIGN IN 2023 AND EXPECTS TO REACH MILLIONS OF TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN. (2) SEX EDUCATION STANDARDS. THE K-12 SEX EDUCATION STANDARDS PRESENT A COMPREHENSIVE SET OF CRITICAL INFORMATION THAT IS AN INDEPENDENT, MEDICALLY ACCURATE RESOURCE AND GUIDE FOR THE PREPARATION AND REVIEW OF SEX EDUCATION CURRICULUM FOR K THROUGH 12TH GRADE. IN 2022, THERE WERE OVER 450 DISTRIBUTIONS OF THE K-12 STANDARDS BY THE ORGANIZATION (DOWNLOADS AND HARD COPIES) TO POLICYMAKERS, SCHOOL DISTRICTS, EDUCATORS AND CONCERNED PARENTS. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT THIS WILL INFLUENCE THE WRITING AND REVIEW OF HUNDREDS OF SEX EDUCATION CURRICULUM THROUGHOUT THE NATION WHICH WILL IMPACT MILLIONS OF SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN EACH YEAR. (3) STD/STI RISK ASSESSMENT TOOL. THE STD WIZARD IS AN STD/STI RISK ASSESSMENT TOOL THAT PERMITS ANY PERSON, ON A CONFIDENTIAL BASIS, TO TAKE AN ONLINE FIVE-MINUTE QUIZ TO HELP DETERMINE IF THEY ARE AT RISK OF HAVING AN STD/STI. AT THE END OF THE QUIZ, THE STD WIZARD COMPILES A LIST OF CDC TESTING AND VACCINE RECOMMENDATIONS BASED UPON THE USER'S ANSWERS AND URGES THE USER TO SHARE THE RECOMMENDATIONS WITH A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL FOR ADDITIONAL ADVICE. IN 2022, OVER 38,000 PEOPLE (45% OF WHICH WERE IN THE18-23 AGE GROUP) TOOK THE ONLINE STD WIZARD QUIZ AND RECEIVED CONFIDENTIAL SEXUAL HEALTHCARE RECOMMENDATIONS. (4) ADVISORY COMMITTEES. WE HAVE ORGANIZED ADVISORY COMMITTEES MADE UP OF VARIOUS EXPERTS AND PROFESSIONALS THAT VOLUNTEER FOR AND ASSIST THE ORGANIZATION IN KEEPING CURRENT ON THE LATEST RESEARCH ON SEXUAL HEALTH AND RELATED TOPICS BUT ALSO MAY CONDUCT AND/OR PREPARE THEIR OWN RESEARCH AND RESOURCES ON IMPORTANT TOPICS. THE CURRENT ADVISORY COMMITTEES INCLUDE EDUCATION, GOVERNMENT-PUBLIC POLICY, BIOLOGICAL CONGRUENCE AND PARENT-FAMILY. (5) WEBSITE UPDATE. IN 2022, THE ORGANIZATION SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASED THE CONTENT OF ITS WEBSITE TO INCLUDE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES ON THE FOLLOWING TEN (10) SEXUAL HEALTH RELATED TOPICS: THE SEXUAL HEALTH EPIDEMIC, STIS, CANCER RISKS WITH STIS, CONDOMS, PORNOGRAPHY, RACIAL/ETHNIC DISPARITIES AND STIS, TRANSGENDER MEDICAL TREATMENT AND MINORS, THE BRAIN AND SEX, THE SUCCESS SEQUENCE, AND GEN Z.
