EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT PROGRAM - DESIGNED TO PREVENT OR OVERCOME HOMELESSNESS. ADVOCACY OUTREACH PROVIDES A DAY SHELTER/RESOURCE CENTER; PAYS RENT OR UTILITY ARREARS TO PREVENT FAMILIES FROM LOSING THEIR HOUSING AND PAYS SECURITY DEPOSITS/FIRST MONTH RENT TO HOUSE FAMILIES WHO ARE HOMELESS.
AUSTIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE LITERACY PROGRAM - TO ASSIST ADULTS TO BECOME LITERATE AND OBTAIN THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY FOR EMPLOYMENT AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY; AND TO ASSIST ADULTS WHO ARE PARENTS TO BECOME FULL PARTNERS IN THE EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR CHILDREN.
