THE VFW IS A NONPROFIT VETERAN SERVICE ORGANIZATION COMPRISED OF ELIGIBLE VETERANS AND MILITARY SERVICE MEMBERS FROM THE ACTIVE, GUARD AND RESERVE FORCES. THE MISSION OF THE VFW IS TO FOSTER CAMARADERIE AMOUNG UNITED STATES VETERANS OF OVERSEAS CONFLICTS; TO SERVE OUR VETERANS, THE MILITARY AND OUR COMMUNITY; AND TO ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF ALL VETERANS.

VFW POST 4031 PROVIDES AN HONOR GUARD COMPRISED OF POST VOLUNTEERS AT THE FUNERAL OF ANY DECEASED VETERAN IF THE FAMILY REQUESTS IT. ADDITIONALLY, THE POST CONDUCTS PUBLIC CEREMONIES ON MEMORIAL DAY AND FLAG DAY, AND HAS COORDINATED THE DURANGO VETERANS DAY PARADE FOR OVER 20 YEARS. THE POST HOSTS A VETERANS BENEFIT BREAKFAST ON THE FIRST AND THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. DONATIONS SUPPORT LOCAL VETERANS AND FAMILIES WITH RENT AND UTILITIES, FOOD AND GAS CARDS, SCHOLARSHIPS, VEHICLE REPAIR, DENTAL AND VISION APPOINTMENTS AND ANY OTHER IDENTIFIED NEED NOT COVERED BY OTHER NON PROFITS OR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
