SAAFP HOSTS EDUCATIONAL LUNCHEONS AND NETWORKING EVENTS TO FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE OF CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES AND WORK TO INCREASE THE RECOGNITION OF THE FINANCE PROFESSION IN THE SAN ANTONIO AREA.SAAFP IS A REGIONAL AFFILIATE OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS [AFP], THE PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY THAT REPRESENTS FINANCE EXECUTIVES GLOBALLY. AFP ESTABLISHED AND ADMINISTERS THE CERTIFIED TREASURY PROFESSIONAL AND CERTIFIED CORPORATE FP&A PROFESSIONALCREDENTIALS, WHICH SET STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE IN FINANCE. THE SAN ANTONIO ASSOCIATION FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS [SAAFP] IS A REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL FORUM FOR INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE FINANCE PROFESSION. THEY HOST EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND PROVIDE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITES THAT FACILITATE THE EXCHANGE OF CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES IN THE FINANCIAL FIELD. IN ADDITION, THEIR GOAL IS TO INCREASE THE RECOGNITION OF THE FINANCE AND TREASURY PROFESSION IN THE SAN ANTONIO AREA. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O AMONG THE ACTIVITIES HOSTED BY THE SAN ANTONIO ASSOCIATION FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS, 10 MONTHLY EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS WERE HELD IN 2019. A FALL CONFERENCE IS ALSO HELD WITH MANY GUEST SPEAKERS THAT PRESENT ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS. GUEST SPEAKERS PRESENT QUALITY SESSIONS THAT INFORM AND EDUCATE THE MEMBERS AND PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS FOR CPA, CTP, CCM, AND FP&A MEMBERS AND GUESTS THAT ATTEND THE MEETINGS. THE SAN ANTONIO ASSOCIATION FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS IS A MEMBER OF THE ALLIANCE OF TEXAS TREASURY ASSOCIATIONS WHICH BRINGS TOGETHER FIVE TEXAS ASSOCIATIONS-AUSTIN, DALLAS, FT. WORTH, HOUSTON, AND SAN ANTONIO. IT IS DEDICATED TO SPONSORING AN ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE, "TEXPO". TEXPO IS A CONFERENCE WHICH DRAWS ATTENDEES FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND IS WIDELY RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE LEADING TREASURY CONFERENCES IN THE COUNTRY. SAN ANTONIO WAS THE HOST CITY IN 2015 HOLDING THE CONFERENCE ON APRIL 19-21, 2015 AND WILL HOST AGAIN IN 2020. APPROXIMATELY 1,100 ATTEND THIS POPULAR CONFERENCE.
AN ANNUAL BOARD RETREAT IS HELD BY THE OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS OF THE SAN ANTONIO ASSOCIATION FOR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONALS WHERE PLANS ARE MADE FOR THE COMING YEAR TO PROVIDE NEW AND/OR IMPROVED SERVICES TO THE MEMBERS SUCH AS A WEB SITE THAT PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE MEMBERS. THIS WEBSITE ALSO HAS JOB POSTINGS, MONTHLY MEETING INFORMATION, AND EDUCATIONAL HISTORY FOR CPA, CTP, CCM, AND FP&A MEMBER'S REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O SINCE TEXPO IS ONLY HELD BY SAN ANTONIO EVERY 5 YEARS, THE TEXPO PROCEEDS ALONG WITH MEMBERSHIP FEES SUPPORT THE SERVICES AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNIES IN THE OFF YEARS FOR ALL ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES OFFERED BY THE ASSOCIATION TO THE MEMBERS AND PROVIDES SOME FUNDS AS UPFRONT MONEY FOR THE NEXT TEXPO SAN ANTONIO WILL HOLD. IT ALSO ALLOWS SAAFP TO OPERATE AND AVOID RAISING MEMBER DUES IN ORDER TO OPERATE. THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, MEETING AND ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES ARE INCURRED WHILE PROVIDING TREASURY AND FINANCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO THE MEMBERS. THE ASSOCIATION SPONSORS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION IN THE CITY ANNUALLY, AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 107 MEMBERS.
