CAMP PROVIDES RECREATIONAL AND RESPITE SERVICES FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES.

SUMMER SESSIONS CONSISTED OF 8 DISTINCT ONE WEEK RESIDENTIAL SESSIONS AT OUR 55-ACRE, 300 BED CAPACITY CAMP IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY WHERE INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATE IN TRADITIONAL, YET ADAPTED CAMPING ACTIVITIES SUCH AS SWIMMING, HORSEBACK, CANOEING, NATURE, ETC. CAMPERS DEVELOP INDEPENDENCE AND LEARN NEW SKILLS. CAMP SERVED 630 CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH MEDICAL, INTELLECTUAL, AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES INCLUDING: AUTISM, INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY, PERVASIVE DEVELOPMENT DELAY, CEREBRAL PALSY, DOWN SYNDROME, SPINA BIFIDA, MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY, AND OTHER LIFE THREATENING OR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. CAMP HAD 569 VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDED 87,956 HOURS DURING THE SUMMER OF 2022.


SCHOOL -YEAR PROGRAMS CONSISTED OF MONTHLY PROGRAMS: WEEKEND AND SPRING BREAK CAMPS DESIGNED MUCH LIKE THE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM, TEEN AND ADULT DAY ADVENTURE (TADA) OUTINGS THAT OFFER INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THE ABILITY TO SOCIALIZE AND ENJOY AGE APPROPRIATE RECREATION AT SPORTING EVENTS, AMUSEMENT PARKS, MUSEUMS, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES INT HE COMMUNITY. PARENTS NIGHT OUT (PNO) OFFERS ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR SIBLINGS WHILE PARENTS RECEIVE RESPITE FROM CHILD CARE RESPONSIBILITIES. FAMILY WEEKEND RETREATS ARE HELD IN THE SPING AND FALL SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR ENTIRE FAMILIES DURING THE WEEKENDS. CAMP SERVED 797 CHILDREN AND ADULTS DURING THE SCHOOL-YEAR PROGRAMS AND HAD 694 VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDED 15,360 SERVICE HOURS.
