DIVISIONS OF ADVOCACY, MEDICAL ECONOMICS, AND COMMUNICATIONS AND THE OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL WORK ON STATE AND NATIONAL ADVOCACY ISSUES THAT IMPACT PHYSICIAN VIABILITY AND THEIR PATIENTS' ACCESS TO CARE. THIS INCLUDES EDUCATING MEMBERS ABOUT THE LEGAL, REGULATORY, AND LEGISLATIVE ISSUES IMPACTING THE MEDICAL LANDSCAPE, THEN EMPLOYING STRATEGIC ADVOCACY EFFORTS TO REMOVE BARRIERS SO PHYSICIANS CAN DO WHAT THEY DO BEST - CARE FOR PATIENTS. THIS WORK AFFECTS ALL TEXAS PHYSICIANS.
OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL AND DIVISION OF MEDICAL ECONOMICS WORK YEAR-ROUND TO PROTECT PHYSICIAN PRACTICE VIABILITY AND REMOVE EXISTING BARRIERS AFFECTING PHYSICIANS' ABILITY TO CARE FOR PATIENTS. THIS WORK ENTAILS FOUR SUCCESSFUL LAWSUITS AGAINST THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND CONTINUED WORK TO ENSURE REGULATORY RULES PROTECT PHYSICIANS AND PATIENTS.
