VIA CHRISTI VILLAGE PONCA CITY IS A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, WHICH INCLUDES A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY (SNF). OUR SNF, INSPIRED BY THE HEALING MISSION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TO THE ELDERLY, PROVIDES A CONTINUUM OF CARE TO RESIDENTS THAT MAXIMIZES DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE. ROOTED IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION OF CARING, AS A CORPORATE MEMBER OF ASCENSION HEALTH SENIOR CARE, OUR COMMUNITY IS CONTINUALLY DEVELOPING AND ADOPTING NEW BEST PRACTICES IN CARE THAT ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE OF OUR RESIDENTS, PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS AND PATIENTS. THE STAFF IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING THE WELL-BEING OF THOSE WE SERVE THROUGH THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY CARE. THE SNF HAS 69 BEDS WITH AN AVERAGE OCCUPANCY OF 51 OR 75%. IN FY 2021, 6,486 DAYS OF CARE WERE PROVIDED TO MEDICAID RECIPIENTS, 2,988 DAYS WERE PROVIDED TO MEDICARE RECIPIENTS. THE COMMUNITY OFFERS DISCOUNTED CARE TO PERSONS WITHOUT ADEQUATE FINANCIAL MEANS TO PAY FOR SERVICES, WHICH INCLUDES PARTICIPATION IN MEDICAID, MEDICARE, TRICARE, AND OTHER GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS. FOR THOSE MEDICAID RESIDENTS SERVED, WE WERE REIMBURSED APPROXIMATELY $529,661 LESS THAN OUR COSTS. AS PART OF THE ASCENSION CATHOLIC HEALTH MINISTRY, THE FILING ORGANIZATION SERVED IN SUPPORT OF ASCENSION'S COMMITMENT TO BOTH CARE FOR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES AND SUPPORT CAREGIVERS AND OTHER ASSOCIATES THROUGH THE CHALLENGES OF THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC IN FY21.
