THE ARDMORE FAMILY YMCA INSTILLS CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES WHILE OFFERING MULITPLE FITNESS PROGRAMS THAT BUILD "STRONG KIDS, STRONG FAMILIES, AND STRONG COMMUNITIES." NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO INABILITY TO PAY. PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS ARE PROVIDED FOR ANY CHILD OR ADULT WHO APPLIES AND QUALIFIES, WHETHER A MEMBER OR NOT. MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTS APPROXIMATELY 13.8% OF THE FAMILIES IN OUR AREA. OVER 2,500 CHILDREN ARE SERVED BY PROGRAMS RANGING FROM FLAG FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, BASKETBALL, SOCCER, SWIMMING, STRENGTH TRAINING, & AFTER-SCHOOL MENTORING. THE YMCA'S WEEKLY TELEVISION PUBLIC SERVICE PROGRAMMING PROVIDES INFORMATION DIRECTLY TO THE HOMES IN OUR AREA. THE ARDMORE FAMILY YMCA RECEIVED PRIVATE GRANTS AND DONATIONS TOWARDS OPERATIONS IN 2021 OF 44,328. THESE DONATIONS ALLOW MEMBERSHIP FEES TO REMAIN AFFORDABLE FOR ALL, FREE TO SOME, RESULTING IN OVER 1,000,000 IN PROGRAM AND MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS GIVEN. THE SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS INCLUDE EXERCISE CLASSES ON LAND AND WATER, AND VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS TO INCLUDE THEM AS MENTORS IN ALL OF THE YOUTH PROGRAMS. A WALKING FOR FITNESS PROGRAM WITH A CERTIFIED TRAINER IS PROVIDED TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE. A SENIOR CITIZEN EXERCISE GROUP CURRENTLY USES THE FACILITY TWICE WEEKLY AT NO COST.
