THE PECAN FESTIVAL IS AN EVENT THAT WAS BROUGHT BACK FROM 12 YEARS AGO. IT HOSTED SEVERAL ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDED MOCKLAHOMA, A CARNIVAL AND SEVERAL ARTS AND CRAFTS AND FOOD VENDORS. THE REVENUES THAT WERE BROUGHT IN FROM THESE ACTIVITIES WERE $93,476 AND THE EXPENSES WERE $100,032.
THE CHAMBER HAS A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF OKMULGEE. THIS CONTRACT IS FOR THE RESPONSIBLE SPENDING OF TOURISM DOLLARS RECEIVED BY THE CITY. THE CHAMBER RECEIVED $41,500 AND EXPENSED $41,429 ON VARIOUS TOURISM ITEMS LIKE ADVERTISING, SEMINARS AND PROMOTIONAL GOODS.
THE ANNUAL BANQUET RAISED $10,772. EXPENSES FOR MEALS, LINENS, PUBLISHING, ETC. WERE $5,848. THE BANQUET WAS HELD IN NOVEMBER 2016 AT OKMULGEE COUNTRY CLUB AND THERE WERE 200 MEMBERS AND GUESTS.
