LATAN SERVES LOUISIANA RESIDENTS OF ALL AGES WITH ALL TYPES OF DISABILITIES, INCLUDING WOUNDED WARRIORS, AND WITH LIMITATIONS DUE TO AGING WHO NEED AT AND DAILY LIVING AIDS. PUBLIC AWARENESS - LATAN PROVIDES ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY (AT) AWARENESS AND INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC, REGARDING THE BENEFITS OF AT, THROUGH ITS WEBSITE, PRESENTATIONS AND EXHIBITS, INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE, PUBLICATIONS, PUBLIC MEDIA AND OTHER VEHICLES.
DEVICE REUTILIZATION PROGRAM - LATAN PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO ACQUIRE PREVIOUSLY OWNED ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES, SUCH AS WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS, CANES, COMPUTERS, COMMUNICATION DEVICES, BATH CHAIRS, AND MANY OTHERS, TO USE IN THEIR DAILY ACTIVITIES FOR EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT AND COMMUNITY LIVING.
DEVICE LOAN PROGRAM - LATAN PROVIDES LOANS OF ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF INDIVIDUALS TRYING VARIOUS DEVICES TO SEE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR THEM IN SCHOOL, AT WORK, AT HOME AND IN THE COMMUNITY.
