GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF ELDERLY AFFAIRS PROGRAMS ASSIST OLDER ADULTS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES BY ALLOWING THEM TO DEVELOP AND MANAGE RESOURCES THEY NEED IN ORDER TO REMAIN AT HOME AND IN THE COMMUNITY FOR AS LONG AS FEASABLE.
THE FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM IS A PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE AGENCY WHICH ALLOWS GRANDPARENTS TO SERVE AS A ROLE MODEL, MENTOR, AND FRIEND WHILE PARTICIPATING IN A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELP STUDENTS LEARN TO READ, PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING, AND GUIDE CHILDREN AT A CRTICAL TIME IN THEIR LIVES.
