PROVIDED RAPID RESPONSE ACTIVITIES NECESSARY TO PLAN AND DELIVER RE-EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO ENABLE DISLOCATED WORKERS TO TRANSITION TO EMPLOYMENT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. RAPID RESPONSE IS PROACTIVE BUSINESS-FOCUSED AND FLEXIBLE STRATEGY DESIGNED FOR TWO MAJOR PURPOSES: 1 HELP GROWING COMPANIES ACCESS AN AVAILABLE POOL OF SKILLED WORKERS FROM OTHER COMPANIES THAT ARE DOWNSIZING OR WHO HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN THE SKILLS COMPANIES NEED TO BE COMPETITIVE. 2 RESPOND TO LAYOFFS AND PLANT CLOSINGS BY QUICKLY COORDINATING SERVICES AND PROVIDING IMMEDIATE AID TO COMPANIES AND THEIR AFFECTED WORKERS. THE ASSISTANCE INCLUDES PROVIDING CORE INTENSIVE RAPID RESPONSE SERVICES ON A STATEWIDE BASIS AT TIMES AND LOCATIONS DETERMINED BY THE LA WORKFORCE COMMISSION THE EMPLOYER AND THE NEEDS OF THE AFFECTED WORKERS. RAPID RESPONSE IS THE METHOD OF ENSURING THAT WORKERS FACING POTENTIAL LAYOFFS HAVE ACCESS TO READJUSTMENT SERVICES AT THE EARLIEST MOMENT.
PROVIDED UNEMPLOYED WOMEN DUE TO COVID-19 AND ARE NOW RE-ENTERING THE LABOR FORCE WITH CHILD CARE SUPPORT THROUGH A SINGLE ONE-TIME PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $500 PAID DIRECTLY TO A LICENSED CHILD CARE PROVIDER ONCE VERIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT WAS VERIFIED.
