IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES STRATEGIC PLANNING, POLICY DEVELOPMENT, OVERSIGHT AND EVALUATION OF THE LOCAL WORKFORCE INVESTMENT SYSTEM IN THE PARISHES OF CALDWELL, EAST CARROLL, FRANKLIN, JACKSON, MADISON, MOREHOUSE, RICHLAND, TENSAS, UNION, AND WEST CARROLL AND THROUGHOUT REGION 8.

WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT ADULT:THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT ADULT AND DISCLOATED WORKER FUNDS ACCOUNTS FOR FUNDS USED IN THE WIOA PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM ATTEMPTS TO IMPLEMENT MAJOR REFORMS OF THE JOB TRAINING SYSTEM TO HELP INCREASE EMPLOYMENT, EARNINGS AND RETENTION OF PARTICIPANTS,AND REDUCE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE DEPENDENCY. A KEY COMPONENT OF THIS PROGRAM IS THE ONE-STOP SERVICE DELIVERY SYSTEM.


HEALTH PROFESSION OPPORTUNITY GRANT:THIS GROUP OF FUNDS ACCOUNTS FOR RESOURCES USED TO PROVIDE DIRECT TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND RELATED ACTIVITIES TO PREPARE LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD. TARGETED OCCUPATIONS INCLUDE THOSE THAT PAY WELL AND ARE EXPECTED TO EITHER EXPERIENCE LABOR SHORTAGES OR BE IN HIGH DEMAND.
