FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS IS A NON-PROFIT PUBLIC CHARITY DEDICATED TO PROVIDING ASISTANCE TO CHILDREN AND OTHER PERSONS WHO ARE VICTIMS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS OR ECONOMIC DISTRESS. IT PROVIDES MEDICAL CARE, MEDICAL SUPPLIES, CLOTHING, RELIEF SUPPLIES, DISASTER ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO NEEDY PERSONS. FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS OPERATES MEDICAL CLINICS AND VARIOUS SELF-HELP PROJECTS. IT SENDS DISASTER ASSISTANCE TEAMS TO NATURAL DISASTER SITES IN ORDER TO RENDER ON-THE-SCENE MEDICAL CARE AND PROVIDE RELIEF SUPPLIES. FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS WORKS TO CREATE A CLIMATE OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, FRIENDSHIP, AND RESPECT BETWEEN THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE PEOPLES OF LATIN AMERICA TO BUILD SUPPORT FOR DEMOCRATIC VALUES, SUCH AS FREE ELECTIONS, PRIVATE PROPERTY, FREE ENTERPRISE, FREEDOM OF THE PRESS, AND FREEDOM OF RELIGION BY CONDUCTING SEMINARS PROMOTING THOSE VALUES.

DURING 2020, FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS' WORK FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, MEDICAL CARE, NUTURITION, EDUCATION, HOUSING, AGRICULTURE AND CREATION OF SMALL BUSINESSES FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM POVERTY IN HONDURAS. IN HONDURAS, FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS' CLINICS PROVIDED MEDICAL CARE AND PREVENTATIVE MEDICAL SERVICES TO LARGE NUMBERS OF POOR PEOPLE IN RURAL COMMUNITIES INCLUDING HEALTH SCREENING FOR HIGH RISK PREGNANT WOMEN AND CHILDREN. FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAS ALSO PROVIDED NUTRITIONAL PROGRAMS, VOCATIONAL EDUCATION, HOUSING, ASSISTANCE TO AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES AND THE CREATION OF SMALL BUSINESSES FOR SINGLE MOTHERS AND OTHER POOR PEOPLE.
