EARTH MISSION ASIA (EMA), A PROJECT OF EARTH MISSION, IS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR ETHNIC HEALTHCARE TEAMS TO SERVE THE MARGINALIZED AREAS OF THE KAREN PEOPLE CONCENTRATED ALONG THE THAI-MYANMAR BORDER. STUDENTS FROM THESE REMOTE AREAS PARTICIPATE IN A 5- YEAR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM OR A 2-YEAR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN PROGRAM. IN 2019, EMA EMPOWERED 45 FULL-TIME STUDENTS, SUPPORTED 26 LOCAL MEDICAL STAFF, AND TREATED 12,183 PATIENTS.
