MAYS MISSION IS DEDICATED TO ASSISTING THE DISABLED AND PROMOTING PUBLIC AWARENESS ON DISABILITIES.

TRAINING - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES COMPENSATED HOURS FOR ON-THE-JOB TRAINING FOR HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS WHILE MAINSTREAMING THEM IN AREAS OF THE PRINTING TRADES, DATA PROCESSING, DIRECT MAIL SERVICES, ASSEMBLY AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.


COMMUNITY SERVICE - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES TO COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE: DISTRIBUTES FREE GIFT PACKS OF STATIONERY ITEMS; VISITS NURSING, VETERANS, AND CARE CENTERS; SPONSORS INTEGRATED OPPORTUNITIES FOR RECREATION AND LEARNING TO HANDICAPPED CHILDREN AND ADULTS; PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE ATTENDING FOUR-YEAR UNIVERSITIES; SERVES AS A NATIONAL REFERRAL SERVICE FOR CAREGIVING ASSISTANCE; AND PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.


PUBLIC EDUCATION - THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS IN CONJUNCTION WITH ITS DIRECT MAIL FUNDRAISING EFFORTS ON THE POTENTIAL OF CITIZENS WITH DISABILITIES WHILE CALLING FOR SPECIFIC ACTIONS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE. PRODUCTION OF THE JOINT ACTIVITES INVOLVES HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS DEMONSTRATING THAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES CAN BE PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY, IF ONLY GIVEN A CHANCE. MAYS MISSION OPERATIONS CAN BE USED AS A MODEL FOR OTHERS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO DISTRIBUTES INFORMATIONAL MATERIALS ON DISABILITY ISSUES AND PROVIDES DISABILITY INFORMATION THROUGH ITS WEB SITE.
